Even as I type this I, and many others often think about how time goes by so fast. It can seem to go by especially fast with young children when they’re little. Life can get so busy that sometimes you just HAVE to make an excuse to have photos taken of you and your family (friends are also welcome to get involved too!)

Buckinghamshire is a picturesque county with several beautiful locations that would make great settings for family photo sessions. Here's a list of some great spots:
Waddesdon Manor: This stunning French Renaissance-style château and its landscaped gardens provide a majestic backdrop for family photos.
Hughenden Manor: The gardens and grounds of this Victorian mansion offer a mix of formal and informal spaces, perfect for capturing a variety of family moments.
Black Park Country Park: A large country park with lakes, woodlands, and open spaces, offering a diverse range of natural settings for family portraits.
Stowe Gardens: The landscaped gardens at Stowe offer a blend of classical architecture, serene lakes, and expansive lawns, creating a picturesque environment for family photos.
Burnham Beeches: A beautiful ancient woodland with a variety of trees and wildlife, providing a natural and tranquil setting for family pictures.
(BONUS) Evenley Wood Garden: Set amongst the beautiful Northamptonshire countryside (only 2 minutes from Brackley and 10 minutes from Buckingham) this 60-acre privately owned woodland garden contains a large and notable collection of plants; ranging from unusual trees and shrubs to a wide selection of lilies and other bulbs. It’s the perfect place to let your children explore the great outdoors with many child-friendly paths and exciting things to see. I highly recommend we visit there together! 😊
A Brief History of Buckinghamshire
The historic county of Buckinghamshire has been in existence since it was a sub-division of the kingdom of Wessex in the 10th century. It was formed from about 200 communities that could between them fund a castle in Buckingham, to defend against invading Danes. The name itself means ‘the district (scire) of Bucca’s home’ – Bucca’s home refers to Buckingham, the name for an Anglo-Saxon landowner.
Buckinghamshire is notable for its beautiful countryside and natural features, including the Chiltern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Stowe Landscaped Gardens near Buckingham, plus the River Thames. The Ridgeway Path, a long-distance footpath, passes through the county. As a family portrait photographer based in Buckinghamshire, it's a real treat to have all of this on my doorstep for mini or grand photo sessions and adventures! If you’d prefer to have an outdoor session somewhere in Buckinghamshire there are plenty of lovely places to visit.
